The training grounds of the BikeInfection club were a three-year mega project for the board around Volker Irouschek, Thomas Kaindl and our colleague and co-board member Christian Posch.
Finding a location, financing, nature conservation procedures and monitoring, clearing an illegal landfill, etc. etc. 3500 club hours and the expertise of our Allegra Trail construction team went into the construction.
In July 2023 it was completed and the more than 6,500m² area with event and learning space, clubhouse (wooden hut), cool entrance gate and sponsor signage for every line, every jump and the pump track was ceremoniously opened.
From July 15 to November 15, 2023, over 73,000 laps were counted on the pump track alone, which corresponds to a mileage of 9,144km. What's cool is that the area has been made publicly accessible to a broad target group thanks to its very easy all-round trail (difficulty level green) and the gradual increase including jump line and technical hill. The area is hugely popular with locals and guests, from 3-year-olds on balance bikes to seniors.
BikeInfection about the project: "As athletes, we are close to nature and that is why sustainable bike park construction is very important to us, especially since the trail center is adjacent to the Zeller See nature reserve. In contrast to many spacious bike parks, a manageable area of around 6,500m² was designed for the BIKE BASE BRUCK project. Together with experts from the field of nature and biotope protection, a concept is being developed that will not harm the environment in any way, but on the contrary, will create new habitats and turn an ecologically desolate site into a showcase project for contemporary, sustainable bike park construction."

Moving away from winter dependency – towards year-round tourism: Alpine tourism is at a turning point.
Moving away from winter dependency and towards year-round tourism: Alpine tourism is facing a fundamental transformation. Climate change and new guest expectations demand a rethink. Strategies like the "Snow Compass" show concrete ways in which destinations can secure their future. Mountain biking tourism, in particular, is developing into a key growth driver with high added value and great potential for the summer and shoulder seasons.
Taking into account the legal requirements and interests of nature and landscape conservation, the mountain bike concept for the Canton of Thurgau is intended to meet the needs of all interest groups.
