Project description

With the Kirchberg Trail, ALLEGRA has created a new flagship project in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps. This easy (blue) flow trail, with a total length of 9.8 km, connects the Fleckalmbahn mountain station directly to the existing trail network on the Gaisberg.

The project impresses with a perfect symbiosis of family-friendly driving fun, ecological responsibility and top-level engineering performance in challenging terrain.

The trail was opened in June 2026.

«"With the new Kirchberg Trail, the 360° Flow Trails Kitzbühel Kirchberg have expanded their offerings to include the longest flow trail in Tyrol. The new trail was officially opened on Friday morning and is now open to all mountain bikers.".

With approximately 8.6 kilometers of pure trail and a total length of around ten kilometers, the new route connects the mountain station of the Fleckalmbahn with Kirchberg and is aimed at all age groups – from beginners to bike families and leisure riders to sporty ambitious riders.

The Kirchberg Trail deliberately employs a modern flow trail concept with clear lines, playful elements, and a continuous flow. Optional jumps and side hits offer additional riding fun, while the trail remains controllable at all times and attractive even for less experienced bikers.»

Between vision and reality

Our team at ALLEGRA Austria acts as a central interface between vision and reality in this project:

  1. Interface management: Successful coordination of various specialist companies (Kolap, Wetstrails, HTB) and trades such as logging work.
  2. Stakeholder management: Sensitive coordination with landowners, forestry and nature conservation authorities for conflict-free implementation.
  3. Sustainability standard: Implementation of state-of-the-art trail building standards for effective water management and permanently minimal maintenance costs.

Regionalits added value & intelligent visitor management

The Kirchberg Trail is far more than just a new path through the countryside – it's a key component in the sustainable development of tourism in the region. The clear separation of hiking and biking trails reduces conflicts of use and creates a safe and enjoyable experience for all nature enthusiasts.

At the same time, targeted visitor management ensures that mountain bikers are guided onto legal and environmentally friendly routes. This protects sensitive natural areas and increases the attractiveness of the entire trail network.

With the Kirchberg Trail, the Kitzbühel region strengthens its position as a first-class mountain biking destination. This high-quality offering creates additional incentives for guests, extends their stays, and contributes to securing regional economic activity and jobs in tourism in the long term.

Can a professional mountain bike business be economically viable enough to represent a genuine alternative to the winter business?

Moving away from winter dependency – towards year-round tourism: Alpine tourism is at a turning point.

Moving away from winter dependency and towards year-round tourism: Alpine tourism is facing a fundamental transformation. Climate change and new guest expectations demand a rethink. Strategies like the "Snow Compass" show concrete ways in which destinations can secure their future. Mountain biking tourism, in particular, is developing into a key growth driver with high added value and great potential for the summer and shoulder seasons.

Trail maintenance courses with ALLEGRA: Maintaining trails instead of just building them

Trail construction doesn't end with the final shaping day—that's when the trail really begins to liven up. But even decades-old trails need regular maintenance. In our trail maintenance courses with Graubünden Bike, Lukas Häusler and the ALLEGRA team impart practical knowledge on sustainable trail maintenance—from alpine enduro trails and skill centers to hiking trails.
