E-Bike Riding Center Ischgl / Austria

Learning and improving in the valley for more technique and safety on the e-bike on the mountain

Learning and improving in the valley for more technique and safety on the e-bike on the mountain

Background:

The world's only E-Bike Riding Center is being created as part of the partnership between the E-Bike World Federation (EBWF) and the Paznaun Ischgl bike region. The basic concept and the obstacles were developed together with ALLEGRA and PZ Pumptrack, and implementation will take place gradually in three phases.
Using the latest technology, modules and elements, the aim is to specifically improve e-bike riding skills and thus promote e-bike safety. More and more bikers, even older ones, are enthusiastic about e-bikes - a test center like this in a regulated environment in the valley area can help everyone to put what they have learned into practice directly on the mountain and on the trails.

Goal:

  • Driving technique | Safety | Skill
  • Balance | Tracking | Fine motor skills
  • Controlled braking and starting
  • Controlled high and low load unloading
  • Weight shifting | Tilt on the e-bike
  • Improve your cornering technique
  • Improve your self-assessment

…and even more fun on the e-bike

Implementation:

The first teaching modules have been ready for use on the course of the first phase in Ischgl since June 2024. Support and rental e-bikes are available from local partners Bründl Sports and Simplon.
The course on the first floor of the Silvretta Therme Ischgl presents various situations: steep mountain terrain, technical passages, cow grids, loose gravel, etc. Various surfaces help, Velopark Module and a section with a Modular Pump Track-Curves that are integrated into the course. Measuring instruments record the journey and then provide a detailed analysis and feedback: Where were the strengths, where are improvements and more efficient driving possible?

Vision & Development:

The E-Bike Riding Center Ischgl will be gradually developed over the next few years and gradually made accessible to e-bikers. In Phase II, the E-Bike Riding Center Small will be ready as a connected course with even more elements and digital measurement as early as 2025. Phase 3 will follow the following year with an even larger course.
