Project description:

June 2024. We received an inquiry from St. Moritz in Switzerland: As part of a decongestion measure in front of the catering establishment on the mountain, a separate lane with attractive and mobile elements is to be created for mountain bikers. The area is used as a ski slope in winter, which is why the measure can only be temporary or seasonal. No sooner said than done. As early as July 2024, we will be able to implement the "bike lane" with six different VELOPARK modules from all categories in St. Moritz.

The Velopark modules, which are also suitable for beginners, have a magnetic effect and ensure the coexistence of hikers and bikers. And as soon as the first snow falls and the ski slopes are prepared, the modules can be quickly dismantled and stored to save space - until the next bike season

First, experience will be gained with the Easy Line. If the concept is successful, then another track with more sophisticated elements will be considered alongside the Easy Line.

Special feature:

The project shows that simple means can be sufficient to achieve decongestion at intersections without major construction measures. The Velopark modules are quickly set up and can be built in any order or expanded later.
A win-win situation for parents and the restaurant industry: While tired legs can be rested on the terrace, the bike lane serves as a manageable bike playground for the kids.

After developing a gravel network with over 900 kilometers of routes, the next question arose: How do we market this offering? How can we differentiate ourselves from our competitors? And how can we attract potential guests to a region near the Arctic Circle?

Three steps to a successful gravel offering

We support destinations on their journey to a successful gravel offering: from potential analysis to concept development and product development.

Moving away from winter dependency – towards year-round tourism: Alpine tourism is at a turning point.

Moving away from winter dependency and towards year-round tourism: Alpine tourism is facing a fundamental transformation. Climate change and new guest expectations demand a rethink. Strategies like the "Snow Compass" show concrete ways in which destinations can secure their future. Mountain biking tourism, in particular, is developing into a key growth driver with high added value and great potential for the summer and shoulder seasons.
