From April 2025, the Schneeberg chairlift in the Losenheim district of Puchberg am Schneeberg, the Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg. "With an investment volume of 2.6 million euros, we are building a total of 15 kilometers of trails and lines for all skill levels - from beginners to sports enthusiasts to families with children - in front of the alpine backdrop of the Schneeberg. The bike park will go into operation in spring 2026, and in doing so we will be taking leisure tourism in the region into a new era. Our vision is to become a leading mountain bike destination," says Lower Austria's Deputy Minister for Transport Udo Landbauer.

The full range of facilities at the Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg will be completed in three stages by 2028. Seven trails and lines will be built around the existing infrastructure of the Schneeberg chairlift, with their levels of difficulty coloured in line with the colour of the slopes. "In the first three years, we want to bring up to 25,000 additional visitors to the region. The new offer will also create up to eight additional jobs and generate around 3,000 to 5,000 overnight stays per year," adds Deputy Governor Udo Landbauer.

From the opening in spring 2026, almost ten kilometers of trail will be available. These include trails of all difficulty levels from blue to black as well as the lower part of the downhill freeride trail and a Kids&Skills Area for the youngest guests and beginners. In the second expansion phase by spring 2027, missing sections of the single trails (red and blue) and the upper part of the downhill freeride trail will be completed and the jump line will be built. In the third expansion phase by spring 2028, the last part of the red single trail and another freeride trail will follow.

In addition, a Shop&Rent will be set up in the station building at the valley station of the Schneeberg chairlift. This will be completed in 2025, leased and will include the rental and sale of bikes and equipment. Courses for beginners and advanced riders can also be booked there. "With high-quality trails and lines for all skill levels, an unbeatable service consisting of rental, repairs, guides and regional gastronomy, we are taking the offer of the municipality of Puchberg to a new level. This means an increase in added value for the municipality and the region and a strengthening of the regional tourist infrastructure," emphasize NÖVOG managing directors Wolfgang Schroll and Michael Hasenöhrl.
