Project description:

Since summer 2020, there have been seven different trails in Thusis with different modules and elements. This skill center is located on an extensive forest area next to the swimming pool in Thusis. The seven trails offer a variety of challenges and surprise with varied and creative obstacles in the middle of a beautifully natural forest area.

Thusis is a showcase project in terms of all park components. A spacious entrance area with barbecue area, bike racks, parking spaces, information boards and signage forms a comfortable infrastructure. The 3.5 km long trails offer creative and varied riding fun with different levels of difficulty and modules. There are QR codes on each of the seven trails that provide further information about the obstacles and the best approach. The surroundings, embedded in the forest, blend harmoniously into the overall picture of Thusis.

target group:

The Skill Center is designed for all skill levels and age groups: it offers beginners an opportunity to become safe and familiar with the bike, for both older and younger generations, as well as for newcomers. "Next-generation" riders can benefit from the technical elements to improve their skills. Advanced riders will also find challenges, jumps and dirt jumps here.

Location & Size

This skill center is located on a large forest area next to the swimming pool in Thusis. 7 trails with a length of over 1.7 km impress and surprise with lots of variety and creative obstacles in the middle of a beautifully natural forest area.

Special feature:

Thusis is a showcase project! A large entrance area with a barbecue area, bike racks, parking spaces, information boards and signage form the pleasant infrastructure. 3.5km of trails with creative and varied difficulty levels and modules provide the greatest riding pleasure on the pedals. QR codes on each of the seven trails tell us more about the obstacles and how best to conquer them. Nestled in the forest, the surroundings also fit in with the overall picture in Thusis.

Between Maria Alm and Hinterthal: Seven kilometers of touring fun – two new trails – one destination

What do you do when a popular biking area borders sensitive refuges – and at the same time, two places need to be better connected for tourism? The answer: a carefully planned infrastructure that protects nature and facilitates recreation. Five years of work have created a 7.3 km mountain bike connection between Maria Alm and Hinterthal with approximately 300 meters of elevation gain, as well as two new single trails – well-thought-out, close to nature, and future-oriented.

Trail maintenance in Armenia: Sharing knowledge and preserving trails

Whether it's a hiking trail, bike trail, or shared trail: A functioning route requires more than construction – it requires maintenance. In Armenia, we trained local crews to enable long-lasting, low-maintenance, and environmentally friendly infrastructure. As ALLEGRA, we have been offering such courses for years: in Switzerland, Scandinavia, and around the world. Because only those who understand how a trail works can maintain it.

The history of coexistence

How did we get to the point where mountain bikers, hikers, and cows share the same trail? The history of coexistence in the Swiss Alps is older—and more exciting—than many people think. Graubünden is playing a pioneering role with Fairtrail, demonstrating how shared travel works: with respect, dialogue, and a pioneering spirit.
