PROJECT DESCRIPTION

After only two weeks of construction, the ALLEGRA Asia team, under the project management of Marc Wyckmans With Velopark Ryugasaki, we have succeeded in creating a new, innovative exercise park in Japan. The VELOPARK modules, combined with the modular pump track, are located in a public area that is very popular with families and children, especially on weekends, for picnics and excursions outside of Tokyo.

The Velopark was specifically designed as publicly accessible and free facility planned and implemented – with Community support, which actively co-financed the project. A children's playground is also located nearby, making the park particularly attractive for young families. Also right next door is the Forest Adventure high ropes course and the Trail Adventure Center, with various mountain biking trails for all skill levels.

After a six-month planning phase, a varied exercise area was created within 14 days, which can be used regardless of the weather and offers a broad target group It appeals to everyone – from toddlers to families to athletically active teenagers. What's particularly exciting to watch is that the kids "conquer" the obstacles not only by bike, but also by running. Anything that's fun is allowed!

The future of movement: Why trail centers are the new sports fields!

While artificial turf pitches offer clearly defined training areas, trail centers and skill parks provide variety, a nature experience, and space for all ages and skill levels. We examine how such biking facilities affect costs, space requirements, and their contribution to active communities.
