Rovaniemi – Levi – Ylläs

Join us on a study trip to Lapland and delve deep into the development of mountain biking – especially from the perspective of route planning and implementation!
You'll have the opportunity to visit both completed routes and ongoing projects and understand the planning work behind them. You'll also gain practical insights and experience reports from experts on route development.
All routes visited were ALLEGRA Nordics Team designed, and you have the opportunity to exchange ideas directly with planners, construction managers and clients.

By the way:
No special mountain bike skills are required to participate – basic cycling knowledge is sufficient!

 

PROGRAM

Wednesday, August 20 – Rovaniemi

  • Ounasvaara route network – Visit to the mountain bike trail system under construction and insights into the development work
  • Pajakylä panoramas – Opportunity to test the trails of Santa's Trail and enjoy the mountain biking experience in the Arctic Circle
  • Mountain bike development in Rovaniemi – Overview of the perspectives of the city, locals and tourism on the promotion of mountain biking
  • In the afternoon drive to Levi, where we spend the night and share the experiences of the day over dinner together.
 

Thursday, August 21 – Levi

  • Rakkavaara mountain bike trail – Guided tour on a new route opening in June 2025. This winding route on flat terrain is ideal for beginners—both locals and domestic and international tourists.
  • Lunchtime talk – News about cycling development in Levi from the perspective of Levi Ski Resort and local tourism stakeholders
  • Hidden Forest Skill Park – Visit to the bike park specially designed for children and beginners
  • Up the mountain by gondola – and down by bike – Explore completed and under-construction trails. Alternatively, you can continue exploring the Hidden Forest Skill Park.
 

Friday August 22nd – Ylläs

  • Focus on Ylläs – After breakfast, insights into mountain bike development in Ylläs and a tour of the infrastructure and routes
  • Mountain biking in Ylläs on Allegra trails
    Did you know that Ylläs is Finland's best bike park 2024 was chosen? And that bike parks aren't just for adrenaline junkies?
    In Ylläs there are even special travel times for seniors – pretty impressive!
  • Lunch and journey home – Return to Rovaniemi in the afternoon, arrival in the evening
 

Option:
You can extend your weekend in Tunturi Lapland and enjoy other great routes in Levi and Ylläs at your own expense.
