Project description:

Bikers will be able to enjoy and experience the first bite of the cooperation between Levi and ALLEGRA from summer 2024: Welcome to the Hidden Forest Skill Park and Sunny South Trail!

The cooperation between ALLEGRA Nordics and Levi starts successfully and is characterized by quality, Sustainability and innovations. The trails in Levi Bike Park were revised in the summer of 2024 as part of a long-term development plan. The aim is to continue to offer visitors to Levi Bike Park new and appealing biking experiences in the area in the future.

The massive rise in the popularity of cycling is driven by the global megatrend of wellness and sustainable mobility, which is particularly evident in urban environments. This has created a whole new target group in Finland for those looking for barrier-free cycling and nature experiences on their travels. Levi is perfectly positioned to meet this demand.

Traditionally, Finns categorize bike parks and lift rides as "dangerous and difficult." For a long time, downhill biking was not as accessible in Finland as winter sports. The main reason is often that the routes are too demanding: just like skiing, the general public does not ski the black slopes and certainly does not try their first turns there. Levi focuses on ease and accessibility: here, everyone can try skiing and mountain biking at their own pace and in their comfort zone.

The Hidden Forest Skill Park is therefore aimed particularly at beginners, children and families. Advanced riders can also hone their skills here and use the Hidden Forest to warm up. In a safe setting and environment, you can get your first taste of the sport and downhill riding. A magic carpet also serves as an ascent aid to conquer the four different trails. Each of the trails has its own character and the progression curve in just a short time is steep.

After the Hidden Forest Skill Park, it's time to roll the bike away from the magic carpet and towards the large gondola to get to the summit. From here, you have a choice of over 10 trails, with a focus on the new Sunny South. The blue trail, which is over four kilometers long, is one of the longest in Finland and creates a completely new riding experience for visitors to Levi. In addition to the incomparable flow, the surroundings are unique and yet typically Finnish: after a rocky landscape at the beginning of the trail, a forest area awaits further down.

Goal and vision in Levi

Levi is not only the leading ski resort in winter, but also has a foot in the door of a bike destination known far beyond its borders. The entire ALLEGRA team is looking forward to accompanying and supporting Levi there.

Between Maria Alm and Hinterthal: Seven kilometers of touring fun – two new trails – one destination

What do you do when a popular biking area borders sensitive refuges – and at the same time, two places need to be better connected for tourism? The answer: a carefully planned infrastructure that protects nature and facilitates recreation. Five years of work have created a 7.3 km mountain bike connection between Maria Alm and Hinterthal with approximately 300 meters of elevation gain, as well as two new single trails – well-thought-out, close to nature, and future-oriented.

Trail maintenance in Armenia: Sharing knowledge and preserving trails

Whether it's a hiking trail, bike trail, or shared trail: A functioning route requires more than construction – it requires maintenance. In Armenia, we trained local crews to enable long-lasting, low-maintenance, and environmentally friendly infrastructure. As ALLEGRA, we have been offering such courses for years: in Switzerland, Scandinavia, and around the world. Because only those who understand how a trail works can maintain it.

Trail maintenance courses with ALLEGRA: Maintaining trails instead of just building them

Trail construction doesn't end with the final shaping day—that's when the trail really begins to liven up. But even decades-old trails need regular maintenance. In our trail maintenance courses with Graubünden Bike, Lukas Häusler and the ALLEGRA team impart practical knowledge on sustainable trail maintenance—from alpine enduro trails and skill centers to hiking trails. The history of coexistence

How did we get to the point where mountain bikers, hikers, and cows share the same trail? The history of coexistence in the Swiss Alps is older—and more exciting—than many people think. Graubünden is playing a pioneering role with Fairtrail, demonstrating how shared travel works: with respect, dialogue, and a pioneering spirit.

Fairtrail is launching a new campaign – with mountain bike star Nino Schurter as ambassador. Together with ALLEGRA as project manager, the project sends a strong message for more consideration on Graubünden's trails.
